Do Irish organisations use cloud technologies?
The answer is an emphatic yes. According to the latest TechBeat survey, 86% of Irish organisations use cloud technologies, with almost half (45%) using hybrid cloud.
The early results show that that top three benefits for use are security, followed by competitive advantage and disaster recovery, by combined averages. The top single preference was speed of deployment at 58%.
More than a quarter (27%) of organisations use just one cloud service provider, but almost a quarter (24%) use more than three service providers.
If there was any doubt as to which way adoption is going, it is dispelled by the more than half (54%) of respondents who said they will increase their cloud adoption in the next 12 months.
While the vast majority (84%) have never had a data security issue with cloud services, more than half of users (52%) say the legal jurisdiction in which data is held influences choice of cloud provider.
The TechBeat survey, in association with Equinix, is still open. To give your cloud experience got to www.techpro.ie/survey to be in with a chance to win a Blue Book voucher for a weekend stay in one of Ireland’s Country Houses.
